Life and Family: First and foremost, I am most grateful for so many blessings in my life--my wife Sarah, our two kids, our four grandchildren and our great-grandson. We have a great home in Tucson and enjoy terrific health. Since retiring in 2005 from Farmers Insurance after having worked there for 23 years, Sarah and I completely remodeled a home in Tucson. It took about two years, including all the planning. Having completed that project, I now do some consulting work part-time and enjoy hiking, camping, fishing, biking, gardening, traveling and spending time with my family. Sarah volunteers with two local organizations and I recently joined a choir. On August 8 and 9, Sarah and I traveled back to Columbia, Missouri to attend her 50th high school reunion at Hickman High School (familiar to all of us who went to Mizzou!) It was a blast--those small town "kids" really know how to party--even at age 68! It certainly got me excited about our upcoming reunion and I am anxious to see all of you next month.
Next 10 Years: Sarah and I plan on traveling even more in the near future. We undoubtedly will have more great-grandchildren to enjoy and look forward to college graduation for our current grandchildren. I am going to get more involved in our community in a volunteer capacity. Sarah and I are checking into doing some joint volunteering for the Red Cross and for the National Park system.
Favorite Memories: Mr. Bewig, Miss Abbott, Mrs. Kimmel, Mr. Sharp, Mr. Mumm, Mr. Batch, Mr. Mickelson and Robert "Boss" Johnson. Sneaking out at lunchtime with Hal Brody and going to McDonald's on Olive Street Road. The UCity "honk". Hanging out in the front hallway before school. Work/study class and getting out at Noon to work at the Kroger grocery store on Olive. Wigwam. Chuck-A-Burger and Hamburger Heaven (with double sauce). Nino's pizza. Student government. Cruising. Double dating.
